Sleep Paralysis

A couple of months ago I was falling asleep (still awake), and a sudden blackness lapsed over me. It was then I realized something was wrong, VERY WRONG. I tried to open my eyes, but they were locked shut. I tried wriggling my fingers and toes for any sign of movement, they were frozen. I couldn't move, I was completely paralyzed. I still remember my heart pounding frantically and thinking
WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF IS HAPPENING!?

If your thinking that I'm attempting to write a badly worded story and that I sorely crave English and Mr. Ferguson; well sorry my dear readers, that is the dumbest thing you have ever thought.

This has happened to me about 4 times, and freaks the shit out of me every. single. time. I never really tried to find out what was happening to me, or that I should of even told my dad because I thought "This psycho crap is only happening to me". Well I guess not, I diagnosed myself with GOOGLE. It's just too bad that i'm not relieved. This 'psycho crap' that is happening has another name that.... doesn't really put me at ease :)

Sudden Unexplained Death Syndrome

FAAANNNTASTICCCC.

There is no 'real' explanation or cure for my Sudden Unexplained Death Syndrome. Only two sides to the story:

Medically:

Sudden unexplained death syndrome is a frightening form of paralysis that occurs when a person suddenly finds himself or herself unable to move for a few minutes. It is due to an ill-timed disconnection between the brain and the body. (WTF?!?!)

Other explanations:

All across Asia and the Middle east it is described as an event in which the person is sleeping and that a ghostly figures are nearby or even holding him or her down. And there's a name for it in just about every language:

Ma De
鬼壓身/鬼压身
kanashibari
khmout sukkhot
dab tsog
bangungut
bakhtak' (Urdu: بختک)
Amuku Be
karabasan
lidércnyomás

All these words basically translate to 'Being pressed down by a ghost or devil' Or in the African language, it means 'The witch is riding you' ........umm...yeah..disturbing on so many levels.

So before you go to bed, just hope this doesn't happen to you :)

Oh and if this has happened to you...please comment :)

THE PICTURE IS SO SCARY KARUNA LOL

But omg this has happened to me too (several times)!! I thought I was going to die.

It happens more often if you sleep flat on your back and face upwards so I just look sidewards when I sleep now.

But apparently, my chinese teacher who went to see a doctor after not being able to move for like 5 mins said that it's because you stayed in one position for too long and that your some nerve got squished and numbed or something :S

*This must be the longest comment I've ever written*
